A Divided Night!

It is about time to reveal some of our least favorite films but of course we always have some of the best recommendations of the past full day or let’s call it Black Night! Our participants sharpened their critical skills on four completely different films: Andrzej Wajda’s swan song, a charming adventure from New Zealand, a romantic story from a an American film critic-turned-director, and a bloated European co-production.

In his swan song, Wajda summed up his convictions and once again condemned ideology and the restrictions of freedom it causes.

The right doses of dramatic and comic moments, a lot of adventure, beautiful nature and a touch of sweetness characterize this enjoyable film.
Taika Waititi ‘s Hunt for the Wilderpeople by Liina Laugesaar

The film manages to be an enjoyable love story, but not necessarily a memorable one.
Gabe Klinger’s Porto by Diana Dumitrescu

Ellis took a too ambitious task on himself as the director and his film is a misfire, which is a pity, because it’s a story with a lot of potential and it deserves to be told properly.
